Zusammenfassung
Eine mehr als zehnjährige Debatte über die Wirksamkeit von Aphasietherapie hat zu widersprüchlichen Ergebnissen geführt: Einerseits gibt es Hinweise darauf, dass Aphasietherapie nicht effektiv ist. Andererseits liegen Belege dafür vor, dass sie effektiv ist. Die widersprüchlichen Ergebnisse lassen sich auf den Faktor »Therapieintensität« zurückführen. In den Studien mit einem negativen Resultat erhielten die Patienten nur ca. zwei Stunden Therapie pro Woche, während in den Studien mit einem positiven Resultat ca. neun Stunden Therapie pro Woche durchgeführt wurden. Die constraint-induced Aphasietherapie mit dem Merkmal des forcierten Sprachgebrauchs bei hoher Therapieintensität zeigt ebenfalls, dass sich mit drei Stunden Therapie pro Tag selbst bei chronischen Aphasien deutliche Erfolge erzielen lassen.

The effectiveness of aphasia therapy

Abstract
A long lasting discussion about the effectiveness of aphasia therapy has led to contradictory results. On the one hand, there are studies showing that aphasia therapy is not effective. On the other hand, there is evidence that aphasia therapy is effective. The contradictory results can be attributed to the intensity of treatment. In studies with a negative outcome patients received only two hours therapy per week, whereas in studies with a positive outcome therapy was performed for nine hours per week. The constraint-induced aphasia therapy which is characterized by the principles of massed-practice and constraint-induction confirms that even patients with a chronic aphasia significantly improve by a treatment of three hours per day.
