Zusammenfassung
Die Ergebnisse narrativ-biographischer Interviews mit Pflegekräften werden hinsichtlich des implizierten Ethos und Berufsverständnisses dargestellt. Die drei Typen – Pflichtenethos, pragmatischer Utilitarismus und Verantwortungsethos – ordnen sich unterschiedlichem Berufsverständnis und moralischen Entwicklungsstufen zu. Narrativität stellt sich dabei als zentrale Größe eines professionellen Berufsverständnisses heraus, was in seinen Konsequenzen für Ausbildung und Berufsausübung bedacht wird.

Narrative perspectives of nursing

Abstract
The article presents the results of narrative biographical interviews with nursing staff and reviews them according to the implicit ethos and individual comprehensions of the nursing profession. Three types of ethos are identified. They can be attributed to different comprehensions of the profession and to different stages of individual moral development. Narrativity is identified as a central factor of a professional comprehension of the nursing profession. The author explores the consequences of these findings for training and professional practice of nursing staff.
