Erfolgreiche Behandlung von optischen Halluzinationen beim Locked-in-Syndrom

Zusammenfassung
Mit dieser Kasuistik berichten wir über eine Patientin mit inkomplettem Locked-in-Syndrom, die während der neurologischen Frührehabilitation produktiv-psychotische Symptome in Form von optischen und szenischen Halluzinationen entwickelte. Die Symptomatik interpretierten wir als Ausdruck einer reaktiven Psychose infolge der schweren Deprivation (ICD-10 F 23) und behandelten erfolgreich mit dem atypischen Neuroleptikum Quetiapin.

Successful treatment of optical hallucinations in a case of locked-in syndrome

Abstract
With this case study we report about a patient with incomplete locked-in syndrome who developed psychotic symptoms such as optical and scenic hallucinations during her course of early neurological rehabilitation. The symptoms were most likely due to a reactive psychosis caused by severe deprivation and could be successfully treated by the atypical neuroleptic drug Quetiapine.
