Palliativmedizinische Betreuung in
der Neurologie – eine retrospektive

Zusammenfassung
Progrediente neurologische Erkrankungen mit Bedarf an palliativmedizinischer Betreuung beeinträchtigen
durch direkte Schädigung des zentralen Nervensystems sowohl die individuelle Persönlichkeit
als auch das Bewusstsein und die soziale Integrität des Patienten. Die vorliegende retrospektive Studie
untersuchte deskriptiv 49 neurologisch-palliative Patienten im Hinblick auf Diagnose, Therapie, soziale
Integration und Beschwerdekonstellation. Maligne Hirntumore und Folgen zerebraler Ischämien
dominierten das Patientengut. Die meisten Patienten klagten über Kopfschmerzen, Nausea und Störung
der Kommunikation. Nach individuellem Assessment, ggf. unter Einbeziehung medizinisch-technischer
Methoden, wurden vorwiegend mit dem betreuenden Hausarzt symptomorientierte palliative
Konzepte entwickelt.

Palliative medicine in neurology – results of a retrospective pilot study

Abstract
Progressive palliative neurological diseases impair individual personality, social integrity and
consciousness due direct affection of the central nervous system. The present retrospective study
descriptively evaluates the charts of 49 patients with a palliative neurological disorder with regard
to diagnosis, treatment, social integration and composition of complaints. Malign brain tumours and
sequelae of cerebral ischemia were predominantly diagnosed. Most of the patients suffered from
headache, nausea and impaired communication skills. After medical assessment including MRI and
neurotechnical methods individual therapeutic concepts were developed in close cooperation with the
responsible family physician.
