Zusammenfassung
Körperliche Erkrankungen werden häufig von psychischen Symptomen und Verhaltensauffälligkeiten begleitet. Umgekehrt weisen viele körperliche Beschwerden auch auf das Vorliegen einer lavierten psychischen Erkrankung hin. Aus diesem Grund hat in den letzten Jahren die Bedeutung der Konsiliarpsychiatrie und Psychotherapie am Allgemeinkrankenhaus deutlich zugenommen. Der vorliegende Artikel beschäftigt sich neben der Begriffsbestimmung und der Organisation der Konsiliarpsychiatrie und Psychotherapie mit deren Besonderheiten am Allgemeinkrankenhaus. Besonderes Gewicht wird auf die Gesprächsführung, die Psychotherapie und die Coping-Strategien bei körperlichen Erkrankungen gelegt. Es sollen Probleme, Arbeitsfelder und Chancen der Entwicklung der Konsiliarpsychiatrie und Psychotherapie am Allgemeinkrankenhaus aufgezeigt werden.

Abstract
Frequently, physical illnesses are accompanied by psychological symptoms and behavioural disorders. The presentation of a physical disorder may mimic a hidden psychiatric disorder as well. The integration of psychiatric departments into general hospitals in Germany during the last 20 years has helped to increase awareness of such somato-psychiatric comorbidity. Consultation-liaison psychiatry is the venue where psychiatrists and psychotherapists help in improving detection and treatment of such comorbidity.
This article deals with the definition and organization of consultation-liaison psychiatry as a psychiatric subspecialty, and with its distinct features in the everyday work in general hospitals. Special focus is put on the consultation process, psychotherapy in the c-l-setting and coping strategies with physical illnesses. The article discusses problems, issues and chances of the development of consultation-liaison psychiatry in general hospitals, and outlines how to improve the co-operation between c-l-psychiatrists and neurologists.
